6 Months In!

Even a little early. And yes I know I missed her five month check in but cut me some slack I'm working again!

Here's the bean at 5 months!

I'm just happy to be sitting at the computer, by myself in a quiet house. Baby is asleep (after quite a battle) and hubby is at worship practice so I am soaking in the quiet, and enjoying some time to myself (even if it is just half an hour, hey I'll take what I can get!)

So in the bean world, yes my baby is going to be SIX months old next week! Yes you read that right, SIX months old already! It's going by way too fast, and now that I'm working again it's going by even faster. I treasure the time when we get home. She always falls asleep on the way home and I soak in every single moment. I take her out of her seat and snuggle with her on the couch (or in bed) and I soak in every breathe she takes, all her little hairs, her eye lashes, her cute button nose (ok I think you get the point). I think that's my favorite part of the day. Even if we have something to do, or someone to visit I take that half an hour and just lay with her. I do try to steal some alone time with her during the day but that's hard with a four year old and a seven month old.

Nannying has been going well. Although the babies are not on the same schedule it's working well. I've been trying to get them to nap at the same time at least once I day. I try to carve out some time for Eva and I to be alone together. We usually play games, make a craft or one her favorites play with some play doh. If the babies are awake I can usually keep them occupied long enough to get a game or two in. We love to go outside, we (the babies and I) watch the "sheriff" (that's what she calls herself) perform her lasso tricks or make some sweet bubbles. If I'm not sitting with babies then Eva and I are drawing chalk or I'm helping her with her bike. I try to stay away from the TV. She usually only gets TV for "rest time" or if we've been outside all morning and she's waiting for lunch. I think it's going well and I hope Eva is having fun too, it's been hard on her with Mom going back to work and I try really hard to make sure she's not lost in the shuffle of taking care of two babies.

 All my girls together!
Mondays are fun because Addie is home!
 We love going outside!

Ok back to Nella. My bean is SIX months old. Have I mentioned that yet?! Gahh! I can't believe it! She's sitting up really well, she loves to eat her feet, she loves to be in her jumper and jump away! She still hasn't shown much interest in rolling over, I know she can do it (I've seen it) but she just doesn't. As my mom would say, "That's a lot of weight for her to move around." Which is true, I weighed her last week and she's up to 20 pounds already! We'll get her official weight when we go to the doctors later on in the month. She's already in size 4 diapers! She's getting too tall for the threes, she gets poop on her shirt at least once a day (not cool) so we've moved up to size 4's, hopefully that will help with the poop issue. Let's see she loves to be naked, as soon as I take her diaper/clothes off she starts to giggle (which I love!), she loves bath time, and she loves her momma something fierce.

Sitting up like a champ!

And that is beginning to become a problem. Not going to lie I absolutely love it but it's hard when we have to leave her somewhere for over an hour. She's good for about an hour, but once she realizes I'm gone she loses it. I'm hoping it's just a phase. We shall see.

The bean has also started food. We started her at 5 months on cereal to get her used to the whole eating process, after about two weeks of that she was over the cereal and ready to move on to bigger and better things. We started off with sweet potatoes (which she loved) then moved onto peas (not a fan of) and now we are onto squash which she seems to be enjoying. Next up is zucchini, we'll see what she thinks about that! I'm thinking of starting her on a sippy, with just water in it. One so she can get used to using one and two just so she something to drink while eating. I know I can't eat anything without having a glass of something to wash it down with.

 Loved the sweet potatoes!
 Peas.....not so much.

And yes I am that mom who makes her own baby food. And yes I am that mom who only buys organic for her baby. This baby gets the best! And with our baby bullet honestly the baby food is super easy to make (because if it wasn't, truth be told I wouldn't be making it!)

We love our Baby Bullet!

I think we've entered into the world of teething. I'm not 100% sure only because I have a cold right now (runny nose, achey, all that fun stuff) and she does too but she also is drooling more than ever so I'm leaning towards teething. Ugh, and the last two nights she's been in our bed for half the night! She just can't seem to get comfortable in her crib. We'll see if we get any teeth in the next month or so!

Update: After reading up on how to get your baby to sleep through the night I started to really get into a routine. So change her diaper, get her pjs on, read some books and then she nurses. I sing her a little song and the past couple nights she's fallen asleep in my arms gets transferred to her crib and we are done. She still gets up once a night but that's no big deal. Well last night didn't go so well, she started her crying and carrying on. I try to let her cry it out but she just doesn't seem to give in. If I go in and pick her up she passes right out. So my husband had a bright idea to put a shirt that I wore underneath her so she could smell my scent (sounds weird I know) but it totally worked! She slept until 5:30! Trying it again tonight, I've got my fingers crossed!

This month, not only do I get to celebrate my first real Mother's Day but my husband and I celebrate two years of marriage! May 20th we got hitched and I've every second of this crazy ride. It hasn't always been easy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Sadly this month we also remember Black Phil. I am so happy to say that Black Phil was a part of our wedding, little did we know that a little less than a year later he would lose his battle with cancer. Even though he's no longer with I know he's watching over Nella, and that makes my heart happy.

Also on Mother's Day well be getting Nella's six month pictures done. I love getting her pictures done, it's so cool to see just how much she's grown. And as an added bonus the hubby agreed to take some family shots too! I'm so excited to see how everything turns out. My sister takes the pictures for us and she does such an amazing job!

Well I think that about sums up my life right now. Back to work with a growing bean who is changing everyday and I'm just trying to catch every second of it!

Summer Fun!

So I haven't been blogging for at least a month now. Whoops, sorry! Last post I made was her six month check in and life is just moving right along. Missed her seventh month check in so here's a quick recap:

My baby girl is growing like a weed. Getting too big too fast. When I look at her in other peoples arms I really see just how big she is, and I wish I could just stop time. I just wanted her to learn to sit up and she could stay that little forever. But no she's gone far past that. She's almost crawling now and trying to pull herself up on everything! (Yes, yes I know I need to lower her crib and I know that didn't jump to any of your minds but I'm hoping if I write it I will remember to actually do it, it's written on the white board too in very large writing. Two days later, after I finish this I'm going to do it! Yes it takes two days to write and re-read a blog when working and when you have a baby!) She's started talking too, she says "mama", "papa", "baba" (although not quite sure why because she hates her "baba") we're working on "dada". Scottie's trying so hard to get her to say it. We've think we've heard it a few times but never when we tell her too, of course. She either says mama back to him or shakes her head no (which I never encourage- ever! Actually I do because it's the cutest thing ever!) Yes one of her new tricks is shaking her head no and it's super cute. She also likes to laugh at me when I tell her no, not cute (ok maybe I have to hide my laughs a little when she does it, but seriously you try keeping a straight face when your 7 month old shakes their head no at you!) Eating is a hit or miss, of course she loves pretty much any fruit you give her and is less than thrilled when you give her veggies but she deals with it. I just keep on giving them to her and praying someday she'll actually enjoy them!

Too big!Trying to pull herself up in the pool!

Scottie had his first Father's Day in June, we spent the whole day together! We went to church then we went shopping for his gift. We got him a new Red Sox (don't hate!) hat, and the World Series dvd. He had to come with us to shop because I knew you needed to have a certain size for the hat and I had no idea what that was and I knew there was no way I could get it from him (he wears it almost everyday) to get it myself, so we all went together. Nella made him an adorable sign, and she made a little something for both of her Papa's too. Daddy's sign said, " I love you Daddy! We make a good team, hands down! Love, Bean" and it had her hand print in the middle. For her Papa's she made a sign that said "I'm hooked on you Papa" with her hand made into a fish! Too cute!

Waiting to give Daddy his gifts!
Her gift to Daddy!

I'm done with Michelle  and the girls for the summer (I have a few dates left with her, but just a few until September). I've started watching Jackson for the summer, only part time which is nice because we are loving this summer weather. Nella is a true water baby! She absolutely loves it! She loves to be in her floatie, she kicks her feet like crazy, and she loves to be held in the water. She leans forward, and puts her face towards the water like she wants to swim! It's probably the cutest thing you'll ever see, although I may be a tiny bit biased.

So far this summer is passing in almost a blur. Hence why I haven't been present much in the blog world. I'm trying to soak in every second that I can. Even the little things. For example we went to the library today and it was Nella's first time. Yeah I know it's just a library and yes I know she can't read but it's still an experience. We went with my sister and her kids and they have this great play area for the kids so that's where Nell and myself went. It's fun to watch her, watch her explore these new places.

Here's a quick recap of our summer so far:

My cousin Brent married his beautiful wife Krina! Of course we had to take a selfie before we went! [5.24.2014]
We went to the carnival! Last year I couldn't go on anything because of my bump so I was a little excited!
My best friend got married! [6.1.2014]
 Nella & Miss Lainey!

 Nell rocking her shades!
Nella's first time in a pool! Little nervous at first, but she's def a water baby!
 Great day with family!
First ice cream cone! She loved it!

 Swimming at Auntie Julie's
 Swimming with Papa

The days go by so fast. It's like I'm trying to hold water in my hands. I'm already looking at pictures of her when she was a newborn and I can't believe how fast she's grown, how fast it's all happening. A little too fast for my liking. She slept through the night last night, like from 7pm to 5:10am (and yes you're going to think I'm crazy when I write this) but I miss her. I miss her needing me for a feeding or for just a cuddle. She won't even fall asleep with me anymore. I tried one night and she cuddles and snuggles and loves on me but refused to fall asleep. I got annoyed that she wasn't falling asleep so I put her in her crib. Five minutes later she was out like a light! And yes I know that's a great thing that she doesn't sleep with us, some people would kill for their kid to sleep in their own bed but I miss her falling asleep on me. She doesn't even fall asleep when I nurse her, when she's done she just pulls away. I give her the bink and lay her down and that's it.

Example A: Baby Nella, look how little she was! She barely even had any fat rolls on those sweet little legs!

Now look at her, so big! Seriously she's gotten so long!

In all her chubby glory! Love it!

As much as I want her to stay my wittle baby I do enjoy watching her grow and learn. It's amazing to really think about how far she's come, it's amazing to see her grow so big. I am blessed to say the least.

And a little side note, speaking of being blessed. I would just like to give a shout out to all the people who came to our shower and gave us diapers! We made it six months without having to buy any diapers! And we just finished our last thing of wipes! Can you believe that! Six months without having to buy diapers! That is truly amazing! So very blessed to have such an amazing family and such an awesome group of friends! Looking forward to a long weekend with my little family! Have a safe & happy 4th everyone!

Meet Victoria

No Victoria is not a person, Victoria is my new car! Yes I name my cars, my last one was Betty. (It was Scottie's old car and his brother's before that. They called it the "Blue Flame", not a fan so I changed it. It was a '99 so I think Betty suited her better.)

Anyways I could not be more excited about getting this car. It's really not new but it's new to me so yay! It's a 2010 Honda Insight, it's a hybrid and I'm in love. I love having the freedom to go any where I want. Even better it's safe for my baby. The old chevy was starting to make noises and was making me nervous to drive it (even to my mom's, which is two blocks away). I think the last time I drove it was before Nella was born. It was time to retire it.

But with me not working we couldn't afford another car. Thank goodness we have Scottie's truck. And thank goodness for awesome sisters! Scottie works on Saturdays so my sister Courtney would let me take her car to run errands and watch the bean for me. Totally awesome, but super lame for having to depend on someone else to get around. I used my sister's car to run errands, and my mom's to take Nella to the doctor. Super annoying, I hate having to ask people for stuff.

I was so excited when the weather started to get nice because we could actually get out of the house! So in short I am so excited to have this new car. I am so excited to be able to take Nella to the doctor, to go to the bank, to go to the grocery store, to do whatever I want whenever I want! It's the little things!

 There she is!

The little things like not having to say a prayer every time you get in your car some where, or like having a a real four door car (our last car only had three, for some reason one wouldn't open), or not having to worry about going up hills (seriously going up a hill was terrifying, I don't think it got past 20), or going on the highway or worry about what new noise it's making, or being embarrassed by how loud your car is, and getting looks from people. I am so happy I have a safe car for my little bean. I'm so happy we'll have AC in it for the summer and even more excited that we can actually go places in the summer! Like visiting my parents when they go camping, or going to Boston for a game! Yay for being an adult and getting a car, a nice car! Whoo hoo! Oh the places we'll go!

Clearly Nella enjoys it. And so do I!

Because I Deserve It!

Recently money has been very tight, actually that's a lie. We've been on a pretty strict budget since the end of June. I don't think I've gotten new clothing since being pregnant, and even then I only got them because I had too. Over the summer and up until now Scottie has been the only one working. I've been trying to watch some kids here but things haven't quite panned out the way I thought they were going to. It's been tough but we've made it through!

We've been squirreling away any extra money we had, seeing how much groceries we could get for the least amount of money, pretty much living week to week, pay check to pay check. Thank god our land lord is pretty awesome and doesn't mind the rent check being just a little late.

We recently got our tax return and because of our beautiful bundle of joy it was more than what we normally would receive. We've decided to each get $1,000 save half and pay off people we have borrowed from. I'm using my money on a down payment for a car and Scottie's using his for whatever he wants.

I'm also in a wedding coming up in June so some of it will be for that. This money couldn't have come at a better time. We've gotten back on track with all of our bills and things are looking good.

Now this post is not to complain about our money woes or to celebrate being out of the hole but to talk about something I like to call "mom guilt". Since having Nella I find it hard to buy things for myself, I'll look at a shirt but tell myself I don't need it. Well news flash since more than half of my clothes don't fit right at the moment I do need it. So I'm letting go. I'm letting go of that "mom guilt" and giving in to just a few things that I want/need.

Granted most days I stay at home and am more than happy with my hair in a messy bun, yoga pants and a v-neck shirt but on occasion I do have to look presentable. I just had my cousin's bridal shower, and my best friend has her's in April and then there's always church and the doctors office (yes I get dressed up for the doctors office, hey I don't get out much). So I did allow myself to get a couple of new shirts, and a new pair of jeans.

Let's face it, it's going to take a while to get my body back into shape so I need to feel good in the clothes that I have for my current body. Although shopping may have become a little bit more like a cruel game than the enjoyable experience I once remember, I know that I can find stuff for my body. I just have to be patient. I have to focus on how I look and not at the size. I know I'll get where need to be eventually but for now I need to feel comfortable in the skin I'm in right now. I need to stop focusing on what my body used to look like and start realizing that I'm still beautiful. My body did one of the most amazing things, I created a human! It took ten months to make her so I need to cut myself some slack and realize that I may look a little different but I still look good.

Exhibit A: New shirt, new jeans, big smile!

I also recently purchased a couple of nursing necklaces. Nella has a tendency to grab at anything I have on (weather it be a scarf, my sweater or even pulling at my shirt or skin...ouch!) so I decided to purchase some nursing necklaces. They are supposed to be something safe for your baby to hold onto, or play with while nursing. I found some really beautiful ones on MommyNecklaces.com and there's tons of hand made beauties on Etsy.com. A lot of them even double as teething necklaces (so I'd say they're pretty safe). They all use natural materials. I'm definitely excited to get those when they come in! I'll be sure to give an update on how well they work for us!

And to get rid of my lingering mommy guilt I got Nella the cutest Easter basket (for a pretty decent price- had a coupon!)  It's adorable, has her name on it and everything! Granted she won't really need it for a couple of years but I'd figured I'd get it out the way while we have a little extra cash!

I'm also excited because I'm going to be working again! I hate that Scottie is the only one bringing in money, so I'm going back to my old nanny job. It will be good to bring in some extra money and it will be good for Nella. They have a baby just two months older than her, so it'll be good for her to get some socialization. I love these girls like my own, so it's really not like work!

Happy spring everyone! Looking forward to the weather warming up!

4 months in!

A little late, but my bean is 4 months old! Crazy right?! I can't get over how big she's getting! (Brag moment, please skip over if you don't want to hear it: It's awesome to watch her grow so big, to know that I am doing that. To know that she is getting bigger everyday from me, from my breast milk. Pretty cool! Ok bragging done.)

In other news Bean has a doctors appointment on Monday so we'll get her stats then. So far we're guessing 15 or 16 pounds (she was 12 pounds at her last check up at two months) and she's got to have grown a couple of inches too. I'm excited to see if she can start cereal or not as well. I'm not sure if I'll do it now or what, we'll see what the doctors say. I know she's been starting to eye food for awhile now so it'd be fun to actually give her something she really can eat.

She's changing everyday. I love to just watch her. She's gotten the hang of the whole grabbing thing. She can grab onto to most of her toys and really hang onto them. She's also getting the hang of getting  her toys into her mouth which makes her very happy. She's very nosy, when she's held she likes to be facing out (she doesn't want to miss anything!) she loves to sit up, doesn't like to lay back anymore. She's very observant and likes to watch everything around her.

 She concentrates really hard!
Loves to put everything in her mouth!

Her favorite thing to do is stand. I've been putting her in her jumper, which she loves (she can't quite reach the floor yet but we just put a pillow underneath her and she's good to go). She's beginning to actually bounce more when she's in it and she actually plays with the toys in front of her. (There's a little book, she likes to turn the pages, and there's little vegetables on there that she likes to grab at.)

She's becoming very vocal, always "talking" and if you're not paying attention to her, she'll make you. She can get very loud if she wants too. Another one of her favorite activities would be blowing raspberries. Her father taught her that, and it's probably one of the funniest things to watch.

Telling dad about her day.

We're still working on her naps. Not quite sure what her deal is with that. she just doesn't like to sleep for more than an hour. I don't know, I guess that's good. I just wish I could get her on a more efficient schedule. In a perfect world I'd go for two hours naps, and longer play time as well. It would also help with her eating. I try to feed her before she goes to sleep (I read some where that has nothing to do with how long they sleep but it's all in my head I guess) so in my head if she slept for two hours, I could feed her when she got up, play for two hours and feed her again before she goes back down. Oh well, it's a work in progress I suppose.

I'm all for a little cry it out but the things I see on the internet are messing with my head. All of the things that are so horrible about letting them cry it (the emotional problems it causes, all the stress) but I know that my mom did it with us and I know I turned out ok. I just want her to learn how to soothe herself. I don't want her to have to rely on a bink or the boob. Is that bad?! Who the heck knows, I mean really I know research say.....but every kid is different and every parent is different. You have to do what works for you, right?!

Overall she's a very happy baby. I love that she's laughing now, that makes my day. The only time she's fussy or crying is when she's tired. When she's over tired you better watch out, because she is a hot mess. I love when I look at her, smile at her and get a big smile in return. I just love her so much!

Happy baby!

We went on a little adventure with the bean. We went out to dinner. (Note to self: Don't do that again until she can sit up, maybe eat a little and entertain herself a little better, and don't go so late!) It went fairly well, I just ended up holding her the whole time and hand to walk out to get her to sleep. Once she was asleep it was a breeze!

Well that's all for now! And please don't hate on my grammatical errors. I wrote this kind of fast because my little love bug is getting a little fussy, she's tired. Fingers crossed she sleeps for a little, maybe I'll get to re-read it and fix my errors.

 Some St. Patty's Day love!
 Snuggles with momma!
She loves to be in our bed!

P.S.
A little note to Spring: Hello! Where are you?! We are quickly approaching the end of March and it's still pretty cold out there! So knock off the shy crap and get out there. People want the sunshine, people want the pretty flowers, the birds chirping so get a move on already. I want to walk with my bean and not have to put her in a million layers! Thanks!

Nella's not impressed with all these layers!

Getting Fit!

I'm tired. Tired of not feeling my best, tired of not feeling confident, tired of walking into a room and wondering if people are staring at my stomach. Tired of looking for my "loose" clothing, tired of looking at pictures and going right for the gut. Checking if I sucked it in, checking if I look flat.

Time's up. My baby is 3 months old, going on four so no longer can I say to myself, "Give yourself a break you just had a baby." Sorry self but you didn't just have a baby, you had her three months ago! You've been long since cleared by the doctor, everything is good to go so quit laying around!

One of my biggest problems is that when I'm bored I eat. If Nella is sleeping and I've showered or the house chores are done I sit in front of the TV and eat. Honestly I'm not even hungry, and I know I'm not hungry but I still continue to eat. And we don't have the healthiest food in this house, so most of my snacks tend to be high in salt or sugar. Even the drinks I drink are way to high in sugar. (Kool-Aid and soda) It's back to water for me. Weirdly enough if it's in a water bottle or I have a straw I can drink more water, rather than if it was in just a cup. Yes I know, I said it was weird. So enough is enough. It's time to get back in shape!

I've been looking on Pinterest for some easy work outs and for some healthy snacks. It's a little bit harder for me to eat healthy because my husband is an extremely picky eater. Frankly I consider that an excuse. I need to have the will power to look at the snacks in the cabinet and pick the best choice. My husband can have his chips and ice cream but I need to make better choices. This may prove more difficult when making meals because I refuse to make separate dinners (I don't have the time or energy for that) but I will figure it out.

I need to start listening to my body. I really need to start asking myself if I'm hungry. I'm about to get  a snack, do I really need it? Am I really hungry? Is it good for me? Now don't get me wrong I'm not about to cut every single thing that I love out of my life. I feel like if you don't that, you're only setting yourself up for failure because eventually you're going to want whatever it is, weather it be cookies or candy or whatever. You're going to want it and you're going to eat it and because you've been depriving yourself of it for so long you may go over board. This always sticks in my head "Everything is good in moderation." I really think that's true. You can still have some candy or some chips or whatever but just have a little. It's all about portion control. Another tip I heard was if you want something (like a cupcake, or a doughnut) tell yourself you can have it later. By doing that hopefully you just forget about it. So instead of saying no, just say you'll have it later.

So here we go! I'm hoping if I write this it make me hold myself more accountable to maintain working out and keep making better choices. I can't wait for this weather to be over with! I will be walking everyday with my bean once it gets nice out.  We got lucky over the weekend and were able to take a nice family walk together, it was very enjoyable. So fingers crossed this winter is almost done!

Do you have any ideas for yummy healthy snacks or meals?! I need all the help I can get!

UPDATE:
Well  I wrote this at the end of February and let me tell you I started out strong. Did a little working out everyday (and by little I mean like 15 mins but I could feel the burn) and I tried to walk as much as possible. I started eating better and I thought I was doing good.

Well now it's almost the end of March and I haven't worked out in probably two weeks. I'm eating decent (light ice cream counts, right?!) I don't know! I just really have no motivation. I'm busy with Nella all day (I know what you're thinking....she's 4 months old how could she possibly keep you that busy, well she does!) I'm lucky if I get a shower in, and truth be told I'd much rather shower than work out. And if I''m not trying to get a shower in then I'm cleaning the house, and for once if I'm lucky enough to have all the chores done and Nella's asleep......well sorry but I don't feel like working out. I'd much rather plop my ass in front of the TV and relax, so sue me!

But I am going to try harder. I have to, I want to. I'm in a wedding in June so I want to shape up. I just wish the weather would cooperate. Yes I know it's an excuse but I'd be a whole lot more productive if the sun was shining. Ok I'm done! Back on the grind. Maybe next month I'll have a sweet post that says I lost five pounds! Fingers crossed!

3 Months In

I'll say it again, I really can't believe how fast time flies! I can't believe my bean is 3 months old already! She's changing so much every day!

She's really getting so big! I don't know how much she weighs or how tall she is because she doesn't have a doctors appointment this month and I'm too lazy too figure it out myself. But she is in size 2 diapers now, and she wears 3-6 months (that are a little snug) and 6 months (still has a little room to grow). I recently packed away all her newborn, 0-3 month, and 3 month clothing- bittersweet moment.

Some big changes that I've started to notice is that she is starting to grab things. We put her in her swing now with the toys on the front and she grabs for them, it's so exciting to watch her! I know for those of you who don't have kids are probably reading this and thinking "Big deal, she's grabbing toys." But you wait, when you have kids the littlest things become the biggest deal.

Another fun/big thing is she's starting to "talk". I love listening to her, it's so cute! She's so alert, she's been very alert for a baby since birth but now she's really taking everything in. She's starting to realize when she's not at home, she looks all around with this look on her face. Not really scared but you can tell she knows she's some where different. She also is recognizing faces, if she doesn't know you or remember you and you hold her- beware she may cry.

One of her favorite things to do is to take a bath, she loves it! She loves to splash and swim! She loves to kick! She's constantly moving her legs and feet. She is also a very nosey baby, if you're holding her you should hold her facing out because she loves to watch everything/everyone.Another one of her favorite things is to try to eat her hands. Usually she'll just go for one but recently she's been trying to eat both at the  same time! It doesn't really work out for her.

She also seems to be pretty strong. She's always trying to sit up. She tries to sit up on her own but just ends up falling over, but if you take her hands she'll grab on and pull herself up! She also loves to stand and if she sees something she likes she will lean towards and try to get whatever it is. She likes our heart pillows we have out right now and our plaid blanket, she'll look at them and smile. I know, she's a weirdo! Ha

We're starting to get on a little bit of schedule. She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:30, she usually nurses about an hour after she goes down and then she'll get up around 1 am to nurse and again at 4/4:30. She gets up again at around 6:30, nurses a little bit and gets changed. She used to sleep until about 8:30 but now she's decided that she would like to see daddy before he goes to work so she gets up at around 6:30/7 and stays awake for about half an hour to hour before going back to sleep for a little cat nap. I love that Scottie gets to see her before he goes to work, although sometimes it makes it harder to actually go to work. After her cat nap she stays up, gets changed, eats and plays for a little and will usually go back down between 9 and 10.

We are working on taking better quality naps. Sometimes I'll hear her cry and I go to check on her and she's wide awake so I take her out (and she's only been asleep for only half an hour!), but she's still tired, so she'll fall back asleep on me! So instead of taking her out I try to rub/pat her back to calm her down. So far it's been working, I can get her to sleep for at least an hour and a half, which is pretty good. I'll take it. I also try to feed her a little before she goes down to sleep, hoping that it will help her sleep a little longer.

Once that nap is done she gets up, is changed, usually eats and plays some more. Then she'll go down for another nap between 12:30/1:30, and when she wakes up we start all over. Change, eat and play. Her "play" consists on either playing on her floor mat (which she loves, thank you god-momma!), or watching me do chores. She loves when I do dishes, I think she likes to listen to the running water. Now that we have batteries for it, she also likes to sit in her swing and either look at the mobile or try to get the toys on it. If there are no chores to do then I lay her on her boppy and just talk to her, or read her books. She'll usually take a small nap around 4 (usually it's on me) and then that's it till bed time. It works well for her, and she's starting to stay up for longer periods of time which is good because then she can eat good before naps which like I said helps her to sleep a little better.

I'm glad she's on a little bit of schedule, it helps me to be able to organize my day a little bit better. I know when I can shower, work on laundry or do things around the house that need to get to done, and are easier to get down when she's asleep. I love my baby but sometimes she needs to go to sleep! It's been really nice at night when she goes down early, I get a little time to myself. Time to enjoy my TV shows and even better- time with my husband.

Here's a little preview of her three month pictures! Love my bean!
